Multi-Table Tournaments
All players in a multi-table poker tournament
begin with a set chip stack. Several tables will be playing
at the same time within the tournament, as each player
vies for the others' chips in an attempt to eliminate
the competition. The blinds increase incrementally as
the tournament progresses. As players are eliminated tables
are "broken". The software will automatically re-assign
players to other tables to maintain balance, as well as
full tables whenever possible. The tournament will culminate
in a final table with the last remaining players. The
overall tournament winner is the player that wins all
the chips! The top tournament finishers are awarded cash
prizes, with prizes based on the number of tournament
entries.
The Tournament Tab on the main Lobby screen
From the main Lobby a Tab for Multi-Table
Tournaments is available. Selecting a specific tournament
will pop up the Tournament Window. Seats will be assigned
in random fashion for all multi-table poker tournaments.
Players will not be permitted to change seats.
The standard options will be available to
the player when their turn comes (check, bet, raise, call
or fold) but there is also an additional feature not seen
in single table tournaments or ring games. When it is
the player's turn to act but he or she does not do so
within the required time of 25 seconds, a button called
"Think Tank" will appear. By selecting Think Tank the
player will acquire additional seconds to contemplate
a course of action. It is important to bear in mind that
the Think Tank counts down as the player uses it throughout
the tournament!
From the Tournament Window the player can
track his or her position in the tournament as well as
information on the chip stacks for the other remaining
players. Players can even access their own play statistics
for the tournament in progress!
The full prize money details will be available
for viewing on the Tournament Window once registration
has completed. The Tournament Window also makes it easy
to keep track of your current tournament's progress. The
window provides limit levels, players' stack sizes, and
the breakdown of the prize pool. Results including the
exact order of finish from first to last and the full
payouts will be viewable after completion of the
multi-table poker tournament in the corresponding Tournament
Window.
Re-buys and Add-ons
If a tournament allows re-buys and add-ons
it will be clearly displayed in the Tournament Window.
Re-buys are allowed at anytime up until
the beginning of the first break of the tournament.
A re-buy gives the player the opportunity to purchase
more chips if they choose to do so. A player with
1,500 in chips or less can pro-actively request a re-buy
by clicking the
icon in the top left corner of the table
screen at anytime re-buys are eligible and purchase another
1,500 in chips. In the event a player loses all
his chips and re-buys are still eligible, the player
will get a pop-up window that will give him 60 seconds
to decide whether he wishes to re-buy or not.
In the event he does not re-buy, he will be eliminated
from the tournament. After the start of the first
break there will be no more re-buys allowed.
One Add-on is offered to every player
at the first break no matter how many chips he has.
Each player may purchase an additional 2,500 chips for
the same amount as the original buy-in. As is typical
with most Add-on tournaments, players will receive
a premium in chips (2,500) as incentive for more players
to add-on. After the first break there will
be no more Add-ons allowed.
Satellites
Each day Paradise will offer satellite events
that will feed into a nightly target tournament or a weekend
target tournament. The satellites will be listed under
the tournaments tab with the descriptor "Satellite". Click
on the Satellite to open the tournament window which will
indicate which target tournament the satellite is feeding.
Paradise will award seats to the target
tournament based on the number of participants in the
satellite and the value of the target tournament. For
example, if the target tournament is $150 and the satellite
is a $15 buy-in, Paradise will award one seat for every
11 participants. If the same $150 target tournament had
a $5 satellite, Paradise would award 1 seat for every
33 players. Available prize money in excess of the
awarded seats will be distributed to the next 3 highest
finishing players as follows: 50%, 30% and 20%. Paradise
charges a 9% fee on the buy-in pool.
Although the satellite will play out to
the end, once the number of players remaining in the tournament
is the same as the number of seats being awarded, the
tournament will be over for all intents and purposes.
Players winning a seat via a satellite must play in the
target tournament and can not exchange the seat for
cash or unregister from the target tournament.
If a winning player does not appear for the target
tournament they will simply post and fold until all their
chips are gone.
Multi-Table Tournament Rules
- Sportfanatik.com charges a 9% fee on gross
tournament buy-ins, including re-buys and add-ons.
There is no rake in multi-table tournaments.
- Initial seats are available on a first come, first
served basis.
- Sportfanatik.com is not a party to any wager and
only serve to oversee the event and the wagers made
among participants. All monies distributed are from
the pool collected from the participants at the start
of the event.
- The tournament is played until one player has all
the chips. Players may not acquire additional chips
beyond the original buy-in unless there are re-buys
and add-ons. When a player loses all their chips they
are declared out of the tournament and finish in the
order they were eliminated.
- For each standard multi-table tournament, all players
will start with 1,500 Tournament Chips. Tournament
Chips have no monetary value.
- All tournaments automatically start at the posted
start time.
- All Tournaments are available from the Tournament
Tab in the main Lobby.
- If more than one player is eliminated in the same
hand, the player with the most chips before the hand
started finishes higher. In the case where both players
also have the same amount of chips before the hand,
both players will tie for the position. If there is
a tie between two or more players, the prizes they
qualify for are split evenly between all tied players.
For example, if two players tie for 2nd place, each
player receives 50% of the second place prize and
50% of the third place prize.
- In Texas Hold'em or Omaha poker tournaments, if
a player who is the small blind is eliminated, the
button does not move. This ensures the big blind is
not missed by the next player in order. If a player
who is the big blind is eliminated, the button moves
and one player receives the benefit of not posting
the big blind for that round. All players have an
equal opportunity to benefit from this scenario.
- The limits and blinds increase either every
6 minutes (turbo), 10 minutes, 12 minutes or
15 minutes depending on the tournament.
Each tournament has a specific level time which can
be viewed in the Tournament Window.
- Each betting round consists of one bet, and up to
a maximum of three raises (four bets total). No Limit
and Pot Limit games have unlimited raises in each
betting round.
- There will be a 5 minute break every hour in
a standard multi-table tournament.
- Sportfanatik.com will not assist in any deals among
players during tournaments. Tournaments continue until
there is one declared winner and the payoffs will
be exactly according to the prize pay out structure.
- Each player should play with the same intensity
against all other players. There should be no soft
playing.
- There are no chip race-offs. All players will play
with all their chips until either they lose all their
chips or win the tournament.
- With the progression of multi-table poker tournaments
the game software will assign players to tables in
an effort to maintain balance, as others are eliminated.
This process is handled randomly. There is the rare
possibility of a player being required to post several
big blinds in a row. When there are ten players remaining
in Hold'em or Omaha tournament, the remaining players
are combined at the "final table".
- During play in any of the tables prior to the final
table of a tournament, if a player loses his connection,
he'll be given the standard time to act. When that
time expires, his think tank will engage if he has money
invested in the pot. At expiry of time in the think
tank, he will be folded, except in the case of the
final table at which players will be given up to 240
seconds to re-establish connection prior to being
folded.
- IMPORTANT: If a player is disconnected or does not
act, his hands are automatically folded every single
hand and their blinds are posted automatically when
it is their turn to act. Eventually the player is
"blinded out" if he does not re-connect back to the
table. (Please see rule #20 regarding the "Think Tank")
- The final table allows an extra 240 seconds for
disconnected players to re-establish their connection
and continue playing. Should the same player disconnect
again they will be given 120 seconds, then 60 seconds
and eventually 30 seconds, to return. The tournament
clock that determines when blind levels increase will
pause when players disconnect. Hands at the final
table that time-out will be folded.
- Think Tank:
- At the start of every multi-table poker tournament
players are each allocated "Think Tank". This
permits the player additional time to consider
their play at the table. The Think Tank will count
down as the player uses it over the course of
the tournament. The other players at the table
will receive notification if a player uses his
or her Think Tank.
- Under the following conditions, Think Tank will
automatically be activated should a player not
act in time at the table:
- The player's internet connection to the
game site is intact
- The player has funds currently invested
in the pot
- In the rare and unlikely event of a server problem,
all tournaments in play during the problem are deemed
as cancelled (see point below for exceptions). Once
the server re-starts, we will refund the full initial
Buy-In and entry fee of each player that was still
in a tournament at the time of the problem. In addition,
each of these players will share pro-rata in the prize
pool accumulated from the players that were already
eliminated from the tournament and also including
all re-buys and add-ons. This payout is based on the
player's proportion of tournament chips they have
above 1,500 chips (their starting amount) compared
to all other remaining players. This resolution treats
all players fairly because if they have any chips
(less than 1,500) they are guaranteed a minimum return
of their initial buy-in, and players that are winning
(above 1,500 chips) will also receive a pro-rata portion
of the remaining prize pool. If a player was eliminated
from the tournament before the server problem,
they are considered "out of the tournament" and do
not receive an entry fee refund or any portion of
the prize pool.
- We will make every effort to pause the tournament
and resume play once the problem has been resolved
if:
- the duration of the problem is 15 minutes
or less
- the tournament is down to three tables or
less and the duration of the problem does
not exceed 30 minutes
- it is a guaranteed prize pool tournament
or a promotional tournament with a non-monetary
prize and the duration of the problem does
not exceed 30 minutes
- management reserves the right to make exceptions
to the above rules in a circumstance they
believe will result in a more fair resolution
for tournament participants.
- Late Registration: Player registration will end
after the first player is eliminated from the tournament.
In the case of our Re-buy and Add-on tournaments,
players will be permitted to register up to 10 minutes
after the start of the tournament.
- Unregistration. Players have the choice to unregister
up until they are assigned a seat. Those who have
won their seats through a satellite are not permitted
to unregister.
- Towards the final stages of a multi-table tournament
the prize money raises significantly with each newly
eliminated player. In these cases where there is more
than one table remaining the tournament may be played
"hand-for-hand". Tables will deal hands at the same
pace, waiting for other tables to catch up if necessary.
- Railbird chat privileges for players watching any
of the multi-table poker tournaments will be removed
if any abusive or harassing language is used.
- Management decisions are final.
Have fun and enjoy the tournaments!
